Who has 15" RPF1s?

Blah.. Blah.. Blah..

Who has 15" RPF1s?

Postby djarum69 » April 19th, 2012, 8:43 pm

Next time we have a tech day, or a track day, or an autocross that I can get to, let me try to fit your wheel on my brakes. People in the wider world keep wondering about it, and I just want to put the question to rest in my own mind. I'm curious where the trouble may or may not lie.
Trying to control this thing is kind of like trying to make oatmeal cry. It's like trying to use the president's mouth to make out with God's middle name. It's like trying to stir diarrhea with your dog's sense of humor.

Unfortunately they are very different in structure and far more attractive than the 15" RPF1s. I have no doubts that they fit. The RPF1s have a huge outer section that looks OK on the 16", but goofy in the smaller wheel.

I have 15x7 RPF1, they're the current daily drivers on the Duckling. When's the next WDCR autocross? We'll have them off the car and available to try since we swap to different wheels/tires to run our street-tire autocrosser.

If you want to find out sooner than that, I'm usually free most afternoons and we could meet halfway between where you are and where I am. It'll only take a few minutes to do the test-fitting.

Who has 15" RPF1s?

That would be me. If I ever get the car back from Wayne (going on 2 mo. for a rollcage ) I'll be at the June PDX @ Summit.

Come visit NYC :)

(or more properly, the CT suburbs of NYC, where the Miata and associated bits are kept)

I'll be at the Summit Point event, so I'll try Mike's. I need to hit the SCCA autocross, but it won't be in May.
