Time Trials Car Classes

After learning that the Solo PAX will be used for Time Trials I went about finding out just where my Frankenstein will end up.

Because I've pitched the stock MAF and ignored any class restrictions when modifying, I've landed squarely in D Prepared (DP). Not the greatest at 0.868, but it's the price I pay for ignoring rules. With the MAF, I'd be ITA compliant (Which = CSP in Solo class) and a more friendly 0.857. I believe the Megasquirt + no MAF restriction is worth the 0.011. We shall see.

Where is everyone else? Curious about my chances against the less prepared folks.

Last time we mapped cars to Road Racing classes and competed there. I ended up in ITA. Where can I go to look at the new classing ideas?

I haven't looked either, but imagine I would wind up ITA also. I suppose mods are mods, no matter if they were originally intended to be streetable mods or not. I really should be somewhere slower than SSM.
Silly little things like '94 brakes will probably put me in a class that doesn't make sense. No thought for classing in my mods obviously.

I've now spent the better part of a half hour searching for support of my original post and have found zip. The following from the Supps. point toward Road Racing classing. Is there a PAX for Road Racing? Maybe that's where I got confused.

Closed wheel cars classified by the GCR for SCCA Club Racing or Solo that are
prepared to Level 2 Time Trials rules are eligible.

Classes and Scoring: WDCR will use SCCA Solo closed wheel car classifications and the 2012 SCCA Solo PAX indexing factor for classing and scoring. Any class (Stock, Street Prepared, Street Touring, etc.) with three (3) or more participants will be awarded for a “Class Win”. The fastest time of the day will be awarded the “Fastest Time”. Trophy ceremony will be held at the end of the event.

I spent a good bit of time clawing through the GCR and I'm fairly certain that's the case. I remember as you ratcheted up the classes you could do more and more with air/fuel measuring and computing, but removing the stock device bumped you ever higher.

I know you can run IRTB's in CSP and I thought those got rid of the MAF?

GCR rules.

All air entering the intake tract shall pass through the carburetor or fuel injection air inlet. All air must also pass through the stock air metering device, eg MAF, or AFM, etc if so equipped. Air intake source shall be within the confines of the engine compartment or stock location.

The engine management computer may be altered or replaced. A throttle position sensor and its wiring may be added or replaced. A MAP or MAF sensor and its wiring may be added. Other existing sensors, excluding the stock air metering device, may be substituted for equivalent units.

The rule-bender's interpretation of this would be: add the necessary MAP sensor for the MS, and bolt the stock air metering device somewhere in the trunk. Right? Probably not...

I am a little confused. Are you using solo rules to determine your classing or road racing rules?
Or are you using road racing rules to determine your classing and then mapping those to solo classes for PAX values?

I'm starting to get it. The reference to the SOLO classing and PAX came from a Facebook post by the Time Trials group that Moxnix referred to. Theoretically there are supps. for the June event that detail this, but there is no link on the WDCR-SCCA site for the updated supps. I've asked for a link to the June supps. If I receive one, I'll post here.

Regardless, the SOLO classing and PAX are in writing, so I'd prepare for that to be the case.

you removed the airbag sensors?
In CSP you can remove the drivers airbag when replacing the steering wheel. Your 93 does not have pass side airbag.

But pulling the seat will bump you. did you pull the carpet also? I have not seen your car in a while so I forget.

E-brake, soon to be gone.
Rinse, repeat.
