I have some polish, I'll bring that. And the usual tools, including rhino ramps.
I may replace the squeaky belts, reset the heater to the summer setting, & look for a bunch of squeaks.
May also do the gauges....

Assuming I show up.

JMPitt820 - Roll Bar
FaeFlora - Roll Bar
Travism - Roll Bar, late arrival
Quiksilver - Hidden Hitch

I may have an exhaust to install. I will likely be a late-morning arrival so as I can pick up some exhaust-related stuff. I soaked the cat bolts two weekends ago when I did the alignment bolts, but we shall see... Does anyone have brasso or other polish appropriate for tarnished stainless tips?

Unless I hear otherwise, I will bring chips/pretzels sorts of snacks rather than my traditional donuts.

Didn't see the bumper removal to put on the bezels. I should be there but can stay till only 12 or 1. BTW, still trying to find out about the wiring harness for being the guinea pig on the fire extingusher. See you soon.

tech day

Postby uber'ed » April 21st, 2007, 9:19 pm

Very nice day, nice dog, nice kids, great tricycles, lots of fun, even if I wasn't much help. Seems everytime I wrench on a car, trouble will soon follow. Interesting ride home, with an oil hose deciding to un attach itself. Lots of oil under the hood, but the warning light did work well. Easy fix, put a hose clamp on the supposedly safe push on fitting, as I don't want to do that again. Pulled off I-795, left the car, did a short hike to a Giant store, and back (not over mile or so), filled it up, and drove home, at a leisurely pace, suited to a slow eddie, never above 80, but not much below either. No damage, except to my pride, but at least the warning system did work. Better to break down on a road, rather than on a road course.
See you at the next tech day.

A great day, indeed. I'm almost fully recovered, and everyone was able drive away.
Thanks, Ross!

Ross -Thanks for the hospitality.
Mike, Dave and anyone else who I forgot to mention - Thanks for the help with the install.
The roll bar definitely stiffened up the car and I'm very pleased. It was nice to meet some of the members who I had not previously had the chance to meet.

Thanks to everyone... Will be removing the bumper again next time to do the grille... Unless I get daring and do it myself first. Order the stainless steel diamond pattern grille that is a factory option in the UK but not here.

Eventually I will get more daring and do things like a roll bar etc.

Really considering shocks and springs but don't want my car any lower already with the appearance package on it.

Thanks again...

James

Very easy fix, just pushed the hose back on, and this time, used a hose clamp. 30 second fix, one hour hike to a store for the oil (lost all four quarts), but once it was filled, all went well. Just sprayed lots of engine brite foaming cleaner, and washed it out, all is well now.

Roll bar carpet trimming

Postby adam_91BRG » April 23rd, 2007, 3:00 pm

The lady who is redoing our dining room chairs just trimmed up the carpet after my rollbar install. She did a very nice and precise job, and only charged $20! (hourly rate). It may be a bit of a drive to south Anne Arundel County, but I wanted to let people know. If anyone is looking to have that job done, I'd be happy to pass along her information.
